How many times have you visited The Art Walk and wished that you, too, could create something like the masterpieces that hang in the Gallery by the Lake or The Art Shop? If those particular skills seem beyond your reach, you may be mistaken. Lake Chares is home to several different studios that can stoke your creative fires and help you achieve the results you want with the artistic outlet of your choice.

Painting With A Twist- Sit with friends, bring your favorite beverage, and enjoy step-by-step instructions with talented local artists who will help you create your very own work of art. Ashley Hebert of Painting with a Twist says, "It’s like creative, non-judgmental therapy!” How does it work? Check their online calendar to decide which painting encompasses your style and personality, and reserve your spot. Sessions range from $35-$45.00, and will leave you feeling accomplished. Here, art is made accessible to anyone through the Painting With a Twist concept—it’s not fine art, it’s fun art. 4421 Nelson Rd.

The Painted Peace- Located at 138 West Prien Lake Road, The Painted Peace is a one-of-a-kind local store that creates beautifully painted pieces of furniture, turning something once lackluster into a functional art piece you can’t imagine living without. The Painted Peace also offers tutorials and classes on how to do create similar pieces with Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan, using furniture you already have on hand. The Art Factory- With the mission to grow a community of artists, The Art Factory is home to a multitude of classes ranging from clay, painting, drawing, print-making, and mixed media. The in-house artists offer classes for children, adults, beginners, and seasoned painters alike, and are happy to host special events. Check their website for news of upcoming classes and community events.

Yayi Beads, Gems, and Gallery- Located at 610 West Alamo Street, this local business offers unique jewelry-making classes to the people of Southwest Louisiana. Watch Yayi’s Facebook page to find out about upcoming classes and events, like Introduction to Precious Metal Clay, where a participant can learn to imprint on silver metal clay. There’s a Start to Beading Class, Leather Knotted Necklaces, Leather Knotted Bracelets, Kumihimo Braiding, Wire Wrapping, and Playing With Fire: Beginner Torch Soldering. You’ll feel welcome with Yayi’s exuberant personality and extremely accomplished wearing jewelry you created.

Niche Creative Studio-Looking for a place to inspire your creativity, but not sure which route to take? Niche Creative Studio has got you covered. They believe everyone has a niche -- and they’re committed to helping you find it. They offer cameo, crochet, sewing, and Cricut classes, as well as a variety of sewing classes for children who are interested in having an outlet for their creativity. Their studio alone is a place of inspiration, with a wide array of colorful fabrics, thread, and yarn. They also offer custom work and will ship all over the country.
